Finally - I'm able to settle down long enough to do some of the extras - like blogging to keep everyone informed of what's going on! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and was able to spend some time with family. I read a great book this weekend, The Compound, which I have described to the classes. It is currently checked out of the library, but would probably be available at the public library.
Speaking of books, make sure you have a library book with you every day. I'm getting a LOT of excuses of why you don't have your book with you! The only way to improve reading and writing skills is to do a lot of both!!!
We are busy writing poems and incorporating some of the poetic elements we have learned about. We are also starting some narrative writing.
A review of capitalization was given to students to complete and turn in tomorrow. This does not mean it is to complete in class tomorrow! You need to have it finished before you come in to class! There are two sheets and they are easy points.
We will be MAP testing in Science tomorrow and Wednesday. We will then be done with MAP!!!! We should be having a little celebration on Friday!!

I attended a conference for middle school in Colorado this summer - this is the view from my hotel window! It was a great conference.
