Didn't post yesterday as the day got quickly away from me! Yesterday we had two assignments due today: a spelling sheet and a capitalization sheet. Also, WOW Reflections entries were due yesterday as well.
We spent yesterday and today in the library working on our very OLD laptop computers to do the prewriting for our descriptive piece. We will be writing about a person who has had a positive influence in our life. Our prewriting involved identifying at least four people who were positive influences and what characteristics they had that made them good influences, and then, today, we chose one of those people and created a chart which identified physical characteristics, personality traits, an anecdote and active verbs and adjectives. We will take this to create our descriptive writing next week.
Tomorrow we have a spelling and capitalization test. We are also going to have character ed. so our schedule will be shortened. This means no intervention time at the end of the day. There is no school on Friday! Yipee!!
If your child comes home saying I yelled at them today about missing assignments, that would be true, except that I didn't raise my voice to them! I DID, however, let them know I was not happy about the number of missing assignments already. When they are called to task on something it always gets translated into "I got yelled at." So, don't worry, no yelling - just holding them accountable! Enjoy your evening!
