It's nice not to have to leave my house in the dark, but I do miss those longer daylight hours! Response logs are due today ( and every day!) as well as the vocabulary from "The Tell-Tale Heart" Students were given the new list of spelling words for the week - test on Thursday - and we looked at capitalization rules for the beginning of sentences, direct quotes and titles - test also on Thursday!
We will be writing a descriptive essay about a person who has had a positive influence. Today we looked at a strong model for the essay and we will begin prewriting in the library tomorrow.

Conferences begin this week, so there will be no school on Friday.

Challenge words can be added for anyone who wants them. They are:

surveillance
inconceivable
preposterous
interpretation
Watch for letter combinations that are hard to keep in order. Remember i before e, except after c or when sounded as "a" like in neighbor and weigh.
