Students were given this week's spelling list (p. 18) and a spelling assignment that is due tomorrow (p. 19). We then went to the library to learn how to set up our paper for the descriptive essay. This was our last day in the library, so students will need to finish these on their own. We will talk about these papers tomorrow in class. The due date for the essay will be Wednesday, November 12. See the link for information on how the paper should be formatted. Following is the information that needs to be included:
First paragraph: Introduce the person you are writing about - who are they, how do you know them, etc.
Second paragaph: Include a physical description of the person
Third paragraph: What are the personality/character traits of this person?
Fourth paragraph: Anecdote illustrating a personality/character trait
Fifth paragraph: How has this person been a positive influence on you?
You can also use p. 293 - 297 in the Lit. book for ideas. All essays MUST be typed. Please see me BEFORE Wednesday if this is an issue for you.
