Yesterday may have been hot, but today was sweltering!! The kids have been troopers, though, and we are muddling through. I couldn't wait to get home to my nice, cool house! The heat can really drain the energy out of you. We worked on an interest inventory today that will take several days to complete. The big project for the day was to write a letter to yourself. The kids were given a checklist of what was required to be in the letter. It is in friendly letter format and has two paragraphs - the first being about who you are, your interests, activities, what you like, etc. and the second to be about your goals for the year and how you think you will be different at the end of the year. They were given class time to complete these, but if they did not get done, they could complete them at home. I am also taking a few questions each day from the "Get to Know Me" sheet that they completed yesterday. The questions they thought to ask me were very interesting! I hope they are paying attention to the answers! (hint, hint)
The fire drill went very well today. The kids were so cooperative and did exactly what I told them to! I love this group of kids!!! Tomorrow we have a fundraising assembly in the APR first thing in the morning with the rest of the schedule "squashed" into the the day. I will have a special treat for my classes for surviving the first week of school!
