Today we discussed theme and symbol and how to use the clues in the story to identify theme. Unfortunately, several classes did not read the assignment and so we were not able to discuss the text. So, second, fourth, and sixth periods have a written assignment to answer the "Close Read" questions on p. 443, 445, 446, and 447 in complete sentences and this is due tomorrow at the beginning of class. It is disheartening to see students completing their homework assignments during class.
We will have a guest speaker tomorrow who will be sharing his experiences during World War II with us.
Students reading The Book Thief need to make sure they have finished the book by this Friday! Read on!
